Hey guys,

I haven't been on here in quite a while but I've been looking for a knife and have been unable to find it so I thought I'd at least give it a shot.

Anyway, I'm interested in acquiring a basic swiss army keychain knife with one difference: I would like its sides to be gold plated instead of plastic or stainless steel.

Suprisingly this has been a very difficult item for me to locate so if any of you know where I might be able to acquire one I would be extremely grateful for you help.

Have a great Wednesday.

Regards,
Tom

Ive never seen gold, but I have seen silver. There are some guys at SOSAK online that do custom mods. check there.

Hey thanks for the tip. I just sent the Tom guy who administrates that site a message so I guess we'll see what he says.

Yes, I too have seen the ones Tiffany's has for sale in their stores but I have observed only silver ones being offered, never gold. Actually, SAK manufactures some very nice silver-scaled models itself. Here is a link to my favourite:

http://www.yourknifeoutlet.info/2006/11/25/classic-polished-sterling-silver-engraved-2 - A relative bargin at only $90.

Unfortunately, however, the only gold ones I have been able to find are considerably more expensive. These consist soley of the two limited production models in SAK's Victoria Collection, which are priced at *ahem* $50,659.85 & $121,583.60, respectively.

BTW - Here is a pic of what $122k buys you these days in case anyone is curious:

Very tempting snatch one up (and beat the rush) of course, but, those diamonds are just too "bling" for my taste.

For less cash you could probably pick up a Vic Swiss Champ with 18k gold scales!

I actually saw one about ten years ago. I don't know if it was custom made, or a one of, but in any case, one does exist. Most likely purchased at Tiffany's.

If one isn't available, I'm sure a little bit of money will make it happen. Or maybe more.

Yeah enough money can make anything happen. lol

I really just want a gold Classic key ring though... like Ryan O'Neil had in the film Zero Effect. :-)

Tom

Tom is a good guy, he should be able to help. You may go straight to the source and go to the Felinevet page on Sosakonline and ask Tim as well. Tim's the man when it comes to SAKs.
