Did anybody else jump on this ZT from that SD post a few weeks ago? It sold out in an hour but mine arrived last week. It's my first ZT and I'm pretty impressed. The ti frame helps keep the weight down too.

How does the 0808 compare to other ZT flippers? Is there a standout value you guys would recommend for a second ZT purchase?

You're done for........ for compact I really like the zt450. The 0562cf is also a nice dress/user folder. What blade shape do you like.

The 0808 is the only ZT I like currently. The gold is not really my thing, but it's ok. I'm glad you like it, that is what is important.

I got in on the SD as well. Not the first time I've owned an 808 but I'm keeping this one.

My favorite "value" is an 0801 off the exchange for $110-130 used. If you like the 0808, you'll probably like the more robust 0801.

For something bigger, an 0560/561/560BW is pretty awesome, and sometimes pretty cheap.

The 0562 and 0452 are great, but put you at the $200 mark pretty quick.

0450 is popular and lighter than the 0808, but too cramped for my hand.

If you don't mind assisted, the 0770 is damn near perfect (other than being assisted IMO). It shows up cheap on the exchange often.

I just picked up my first ZT a couple weeks ago.. the 0452CF.. and I'm afraid I might be doomed now. It is a beautiful knife.

Thanks for the input. Yeah, I'm more of a light user with a city life and a smaller knife so I hadn't considered ZT until I saw that deal for the gold 808 (it was $130, just FYI). Might have to get another now though as it's the nicest of the dozen or so knives I own.

The choice will probably be between going for something bigger (like that 801) that fits my hand or something like the 450 that fits my pocket. I think Deadeye's 450 recommendation is probably just right for me because I'm only likely to carry something pretty compact. I didn't know ZT made something that light.

I don't really have a preferred blade shape although I don't care for assisted knives. In fact the main reason I came back to BF after a few years away was to sell some Kershaw's but the rules have changed since back when I started and the Exchange seems to only be for paying members now.

Thanks again guys.

That is a very nice folder. I managed to find these in the 801 style, although they are known as "bronze."
A bit larger than the 0808, but both models are very nice.

If it weren't for the assist, I'd still own my 0770CF. But alas and alack, I couldn't handle the assist, and the cf version doesn't work well unassisted.

To me, it's completely illogical why such a slim and gentlemanly knife would be assisted.
