Goldden Eye Elite question

greetings to all, does anyone know how this blade is and is it worth the $199.95 that its being sold for. it looks pretty gnarly and i just pulled the trigger any feedback greatly appreciated.
 
Little confused why this is labeled as review, why you posted the same thing twice, and why you're asking how it is AFTER purchasing it.

Anyway, you'll be one of the first around here to purchase one, so why not detail out how you like it once you get it, let the rest of us know how their new opening mechanism is :)
 
TBH i would just go for the plain Golden Eye instead of the Elite. The normal version is only $115, and the only difference for the Elite is the CF handle scale. TBH i think the elite is overpriced compared to the normal version as i dont think the CF scale is worth $85 more.

One thing to also consider is that the CF scale is not as durable as the G-10 version. They are both fiber laminate, but the CF tend to have bigger void between gap and flay more easily. Try dropping a CF scale and you will know what i mean. G-10 scale also flay but not as severely as CF, and it's tougher. Also, unless the CF is peel-ply like the one Spyderco uses, it's gonna be smooth, so it's not gonna be as grippy as the G10 version.
Because of this i think the CF is just for look and perhaps for lighter weight.

So im not comfortable paying $85 more for something that doesnt provide additional advantages.
 
That Elite is one sexy looking knife! If I had the coin, I would probably pop for it myself, but alas, there are a couple of other models I want first.
 
i recieved my golden eye elite today and it pretty much is just like it's described. i was really lucky to have a $70.00 coupon which i applied to the purchase so the trigger was a hair trigger! all in all it was worth the discounted price but paying the whole $199.95 i would 've hesitated. the s35v blade came scary sharp and with the cf scales it's defininitely on a diet when it hit the scale -4 oz and some change, the cf is pretty solid and sexy i just wonder how long the brass colored pocket clip will stay as shiny as it is now. not bad in my books especially with the coupon.
