I just recently got the elite version with the carbon fiber and the scales were very dull. Interestingly the inside of the scales are nice and glossy. After five minutes it looks much better.

Just used some fine automotive compound with a buffer. I hope it’s obvious in the poor picture above that it’s a before and after.

I’m curious as to why.

It didn’t affect the grip either way so to me it’s a plus

I like the feel in hand and it just looks expensive and next to my Nightforce it looks less gaudy.

I just stick it on my forehead to get some oil to make it glossy
I prefer the matte look too. If you’ve handled the Storm Cloud with that single layer CF and g-10 handle, the CF layer is super glossy and look cheap.

I much prefer the glossy....at least in this example. Very nice.

My few CF slabbed knives have all types of finishes. But high polished samples far outnumber anything else (with CF) in my collection.

One that I'm currently on the fence with right now, is my Civivi Elementum Damascus (Yeah yeah,I know....cold steel thread, sorry about that). It actually has a very beautiful satin CF finish, but I just keep wondering if it wouldn't still look better with high gloss carbon to match the blade finish.

I've been eyeing the GoldenEye for some time now. May have just pushed me over the edge. :)

I also recently purchased one of these and I like the matte finish. My only complaint is how the edge of the handle is left pointy sharp which us uncomfortable to hold in the saber grip.
