OK, this is a little silly but I'm looking for a golf divot fixer. Obviously if I am the type of person to be browsing the gadget forum, a cheap freebie divot fixer isn't going to satisfy me. I'm looking for something with gadgety appeal. A auto out the front with a damascus "blade" may be a little much, but you get the idea.

I've done a search and found mention of GT Knives' Divix. I handled something similar (may or may not have been the same, wasn't paying much attention at the time) at a Sport Chalet. Unfortunately there was lot of side to side play, and lock kinda rattled. Overall it wasn't very solid. Does anybody have any first hand experience with the Divix or other suggestions? Perhaps other knife makers make one? Thanks.

I am on my laptop right now, and do not have my regular bookmark file.

Check with Patrick at Triple Aught Designs, or Josh at Pioneer Valley Knife and Tool. I think both places have a side opener divot tool.

You should find both in the links section here at Blade Forums.

Good Luck,

Mike

Both Victorinox and Wenger make various knife models with a divot fixer. Victorinox makes the Golfer, a conventional appearing knife ithw the divot tool, blade, scissors, and corkscrew as well as the Golf Tool, a newer model where the divot tool slides out manually. Wenger makes four models, a basic knife with a blade, bottle opener, spike wrench, divot tool, groove cleaner, another model with all these features plus a Phillips head screwdriver and snap shackle, the other full size one also has a cigar cutter, and, finally, a smaller one , based on the Esquire with small divot tool.

Both manufacurers have websites.

Hope this is helpful.

tma,
I bought a GT Divix several months ago and it has served me well. The spring is strong and the lockup is more than satisfactory especially considering the price point. Sorry, but I don't know if I got an unusually good one, or if you handled an unusually bad one

. As long as you order from someone like Patrick at Triple Aught at least you know that if you receive it and it doesn't meet with your standards you'll have no problems returning it and getting a refund.
