Gone fishin'...not catchin'

Sam, my eldest son, asked me today if we could go fishing, yes, yes we can :)

The Alpaca Berry farm down the road form us has a pound and the owner had already told us we could fish in it if we wanted. We didn't have any bait other then some cheap plastic thingys but I really wasn't going to catch anything, had some fun, then the girls showed up and they had some fun to, we weren't at it very long because it got hot quick and even after Sam had stolen a certain hat the kids just couldn't sit out on the empty bank in the noon day sun anyway.

Surprisingly we got a few bites but I really don't think our bait was right for the type of fish in there, but that's just guess work, it's about as much success as I've ever had at fishing anyway :)

Anyway, took along some knife friends as well so thought it was a good chance to share some pictures:

Family+Fishing is an automatic win and a hard combo to beat in my books!
Way to make the time to get out with your family and enjoy the day.

P.S. hard to beat worms on small ponds...and finding them adds to the adventure for the wee ones!
 
Looks like a nice spot to spend some time with the wife and kids! Fishing is some of the best memories from my childhood, good stuff:thumbup:
 
thanks all, it was a fun time, next time we'll have to dig out some worms, guy who owns the pond told me there are a lot of night crawlers around his fence supposedly.
 
Yup,fishin',like hunting,ain't about actually catching your intended game,but the time spent out & if you can spend the time with family,all the better.:thumbup:

I can send you some lures that I am sure you can catch some fish if you use them.

I have taken my granddaughters fishing many times and one of them usually catches a bass.
