Well, I haven't seen a close friend of mine for about 6 months because he was in Texas getting training since he's in the Air Force.
He had some free time this past weekend, so on Sunday, we did one of our favorite past times: SHOOTING!!!
And what did we shoot you might ask? Well, pumpkins of course!!
I know, I know, pumpkins in January?
THAT'S RIGHT!!
I've been saving these round gushy things since October to shoot!!
Now we go shooting in his parents' horse pasture, and on a good day max distance is roughly 205-210 yards, but we have to shoot in the bed of a truck so we can see over the hill.
But we settled for 140 or so yards this time
We brought 5 guns, my DPMS 308 AP4, my 1911, and a good ol' Remington 870 Express 12 ga. He brought his Smith and Wesson 45 acp and a Mossberg 500.
Here's what our targets looked like before:

The Earth wasn't sideways that day, but I can't get it to load right, and I'm tired so I'll fiddle it tomorrow.
Anyway, we started with my 308

(that's my friend, not me. And we were using my Camelbak trizip as a shooting bag)

And I don't know what it was, but we weren't shooting worth a damn.
Could have been the cold, the tilt of the Earth, sunspots, that new 13th sign in the Zodiac, global warming, etc. But we weren't doing to well and we're both good shots.
So we went handgun, and no better. By now, we're pretty mad and the batteries in my camera were getting pretty low
But, one thing that always can cheer people up, SHOTGUNS!!!!!
We had a little pumpkin pie massacre
And it was fun.

And a wider view of the carnage

We eventually got it where it was just orange goo all over the place; you guys ever seen the movie Tremors? When the worms get blown up, that's kind of what it looked like.
It was a good fun day (even though our accuracy blew for some reason), but at least we were shooting. And enjoying every minute of our right to bare arms
