Well today I picked up 3 knives on ebay. Barring a false ad or some postal freak accident I'm pretty happy with my purchases. Thought I'd post some pics to see how you think I did.

First is a Schrade 825. Picked it up for 24.99.

Next is a Scrade Blue bone stockman. 45.00

Last is a Schrade bone handled trapper for 53.00.

I'm pretty new at Schrade collecting. Hope I didn't get a ringer.

nice knives!! the 825's are awesome, i love those!! dont know much about the other two, but that trapper looks good. the only problem i have had on ebay lately is with te UH line, i can ahrdly tell if they are taylor or real schrade. but it looks like u got some good'ns!!

Yea, I saw you bidding on the blue bone and wanted it but let you have it. No sense in running a brother up if i know who you are. Let me know if the knife is better looking in your hand versus the pics. Congrats!

Im not a big fan of trappers but that blue bone knife is very nice, I also like the one below it.

Ive got a nice rare case trapper coming in mail but I cant show it on forum because it not a Schrade?? Oh well.

Well Done on yours!!

Thanks everyone. I can't wait for them to come in. I think the 825 is going to be my favorite. I have seen them listed before but none of them looked as clean as this one. That blue bone is pretty sweet too. Thanks D&B for not bidding. That's kind. I guess I need to get a handle on everyones ebay ID so I don't step on any toes. Tim I'm not a trapper fan either but I thought it might be a good collectable to have around. Needless to say these won't be EDC. Any other good buys on ebay lately guys?

Got the blue bone today. Question. Would Schrade put a shield on a knife that is blank? It is recessed lower than the cut of the bone like the shield is not the thickness it should be.

If you like a nice stockman you'll love the 825. Sweet pocket knives. Perfect pocket size. Nice buy.

here is the flyer from the 100th anniv set.
Same knife minus the blade etch.
I have 5 different blue bone handled Schrade knives but none have shields. Based on the dates in the flyer Im wondering if the 25 and 72 ever hit the streets.

Wow those are nice. Mine looks like that but minus the etch. The blade says Schrade+ LTD.

Here was all the add said:

Mint Condition / No Box: SCHRADE + USA LTD Stockman Knife 1980's. Genuine Cross Cut Blue Bone Handles With Bowtie Shield. 4" Closed.

Well the 825 came in and the blades wobble so much that I can't believe they don't just fall out. Response from seller. Too bad. Is there anything that can be done to fix the knife?

ok, what i do when i get one like this, is put it b/w 2 pieces of thick leather, and tap the bolsters snug with a small hammer. u have to be careful or else u will damage the bolsters. i tried putting it in and vice and tightning until it was snug, but the vice left some marks on the bolsters, and they wouldnt buff out!! someone may come along with a better idea, but this has always worked for me ever since someone here told me how to do it. i use a friends tool bag here at work, it has a loop for a hammer, so i take the hammer out, and put the bolster b/w the leather and lightly tap until its snug again. hope this helps. if not, u can send her to me and i will "babysit" her for a few years!! lol!! hope this helps!!

Those blue bone rope jigged knives were made just around the time of the closing, so yours probably never made it through the etching. Nice knife and not many around. Check out the lower left hand corner of the opened cigar box top. If it doesn't say "made under license from Taylor Cutlery", or something to that effect, you're OK.
