Hey Everybody...

Headed out the door to Jerry Fisk's Micro Show...... Dragging along Tradewater's spit to cook a little pork loin for Saturday...... Gonna be some great knifemakers in attendance along with the incomparable Fisk who is, his very own self..... Have a great weekend...... Be back on Monday .....

I will be at Smoky Mountain Knife Works the following weekend.....Friday Noon to Sunday afternoon.....

Hope to see you there.......

I knew Fisk had pork envy after seeing the gathering thread. If it's half as good as that last one, he's in for a treat.

Have a good trip Ethan.I watched a few of the sharpening videos today of Mr.Fisk taped at your shop during the fall gathering a few years back.Very informative, and entertaining, and the orthopedic surgeon who installed my bionic hip yesterday watched the one on reprofiling the BK 5 and was impressed by both Jerry and the knife.

enjoy and pass on our well wishes to Jerry & the incomparable Bob.

I am back, having had a grand time at Brother Fisk's...... Jerry , J.R. Cook and Don Hanson displayed some incredible blades and there were several knives by the late John White as well...... It is hard for me to be able to adequately describe the beauty and quality of the blades I saw and got to fondle as well....... If you get a chance visit the websites and be prepared to drool all over your keyboard....... What you cannot see there is the FEEL and balance of these blades....... Incredible.......There was a D guard Bowie by John White that had the most lovely balance that I will remember the feel of for a very long time....... Mind you I do not find D guards aesthetically pleasing, as a general rule but, this one was a very big exception....... Beautiful was in abundance.......There was a hunting suite, large Sendero and NAA .22 Mag , engraved in the same style, by Fisk, that was quite spectacular........ J.R. Cook had an East Asian short fighting axe that would have looked quite nice on most any surface at my house and Don Hanson had a couple of folders that caused the greed to creep out of the dark side of my psyche...... There was much good fellowship, some spectacular Beef ribs from Naamans in Texarkana and a good time at Saturdays knife Rodeo.....I did a miserable job but, I did do better than my friend Bruce Ripper, so all was well.......

Glad you had a good time Mr. Becker. I can totally relate to how a knife can look amazing, but the way it feels in the hand is well beyond anything you would've ever imagined. Had a very similar experience the first time I held my BK7. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE the way all of my other Beckers feel in hand, but something about the 7 just......well, I dunno. It's hard to explain. Or, maybe it's beyond words? :)

Anyway, glad you got to enjoy yourself this weekend while fondling some beauties!
