Gone too far yet a third time: bk7 aluminum trainer handle slip test

Finally got around to building a drone bk7 to do a (mostly) safe handle slip test: 1/4" aluminum, all corners and edges rounded, handle and hand soaked in mineral oil.
The video's not great-I wish the hole I made in the dead tree was more obvious:
There were some minor slips-nothing that would have resulted in a cut though. That last shot actually bent the trainer a little bit.

Just for a second... I thought about joking with you saying things that try to invalidate your test, but then I said, "Rick... that's dumb". So, I didn't.

Well, done. Further proved the point (no pun intended) with an entirely different approach by using Kali. Brilliant! Yet, fancy.

Thanks. Figured going at it from a silat (mostly)/kali approach would add some variables to the mix.
Somebody will come up with the invalidatey bits...worry not :p

The Becker scales are awesome, no question about it. A tad longer would have been better for me, but no complaints, they're still quite comfortable. And, as has been shown, very capable.

Jim, this is why I maintain friendship with you (well, not the only reason). I would not want to be on the receiving end of your blade acumen. Great video!

That would hurt to get "stabbed" with

Non lethal Becker solution for police ;)

When i started training silat a long time ago we used aluminum trainers...they suck to get hit with. They chip bone (and teeth) and if you zig when you shoulda zagged on a thrust there's some sadness

This is SUCH an understatement. "Non-lethal" doesn't mean it doesn't hurt like hell. Another reason to call you friend ;).

So.....when are you gonna put this one to the #whitepinesmatter test?

Hit full size tree with sword=deserve to hit full size tree with sword. They're not designed for that.
I broke an old katana :/ :/ back in the 90's and the last 13" went over my shoulder and four inches into a horsehair plaster wall. 2" to the right and this conversation would require an ouija board.

Hey Jim.....

Nicely done, my friend, nicely done....... A pleasure to see you at play and, the next time I am contemplating gratuitously messing with someone, you have just removed yourself from the list..... Lol.....

Thank you for helping to put this to bed....... If I do it tends to be suspect and Will and Anthony did their tests before the age of the ubiquitous camera phone....... And theses days no video means it did not happen...... So, many thanks to you and to Rick.......

See ya at Blade.....

Ethan

Thank you sir. Glad I could be of assistance...
My particular 7 came with some fairly smooth grips, and I wondered-now I know.
See you at BLADE!
