At the family Thanksgiving dinner, my Great-Nephew Hunter, born in 2006, told me he "wanted a Buck knife for Christmas". What he doesn't know, is that I bought a 110 in 2006, the day after he was born, so I would have one with the 2006 tang stamp, to someday give him. I asked his parents if they thought he was old enough for a Buck 110, and they said yes, so he's getting it, along with a new Buck Knives hat I ordered today.

Can't wait to see his face. :)

11 years old. Perfect age to start learning how to use a knife. He'll never forget it.:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Way to go, that's a great uncle right there
Sort of reminds me of when I was about 3 and my uncle who came to visit gave me a little sailors hat ( he was in the Navy ) and I thought it was so cool and i idolized him when I was little ( I idolized my dad as well ).
last time I saw him was when I was 11 though, because he just cares more about his hobbies and hanging out with his drinking / hunting buddies.

Hopefully you don't live here in California though, because he might wear the cap to school and get suspended.

Ha, nah, here is So. Illinois, the cap won't. Sadly the knife would. It kills me to see kids that go to the same school I did, not allowed to carry pocket knives. In my day, we could wear folders in sheaths on our belts in High School, and as long as you didn't do something stupid it was OK.

Times have changed for the worse. :(

He's been carrying pocket knives since he was 6, but mostly junk. I did give him a small Bantam when he was 8, but he's a southpaw like me, and you can't reverse the clips on those for us.
