I am wanting suggestions for something that resembles a CS trail Hawk, but US made that I can mod for my buddy at work. He is a full blown Native American and make some amazing looking War Clubs.
He really likes the Trail Hawks I have shown him, but id like to give him something that isnt Tiwan made

Ill post pics of both items as I go through the process.

A taiwanese trail-hawk. The 'taiwan' comes off with the black stuff and no one's the wiser.

Yeah, I know, just wanted to give him something with a little more stateside appeal than something that is pounded out by the thousands in a factory everyday.

He really likes the looks of the Trail hawk, since it has a poll, so im looking for something about that style that wont break me.

Fort Turner's Buck Hawk. Hand forged in Californie by Dana Turner

Gotta say...Go with the trail hawk. Sand it down, re finish the head, mirror the edge and hammer poll, do some amazing refinishing to the wood handle. It would look worlds better then the other ones posted and would cost less. Plus even if it is hammered out by thousands, I am abusing the hell out of mine and it is holding up like a champ.

Agree with EdgeTim...
Get the Cold Steel product, and sand and 'mod' it to taste...
Good bang for your $$$

i dunno, FT may be a good idea, they seem to chop way better (at least outta the box) and the head/handle fit is worlds better.
