Going through a rough patch.

This morning I used my khukuri to dispatch a horse bow from my collection that has brought me some bad luck. The day following its delivery in the beginning of January this year, I received some very bad news. Earlier this week, again I received the same kind of bad news under very similar conditions the same day I attempted some cosmetic work on the bow but ended up ruining the bow. Gist of the story is that bow has been associated with some bad karma in my life.

My friend who sold me the bow advised me to just chuck it in the trash but since I didn't want someone else to pick up the bow, try to use it, and hurt themselves, I decided to break it apart.

Needless to say, in destroying the bow with my HI, chopping it up into pieces...I guess alot of my emotions got the best of me and I went alittle too far and I ended up destroying my HI as well.

Just hoping to get over this and move on. I accept the consequences of my actions, but thought I'd come out openly about it and share and ask for some smoke.

This is an HI sold to me directly from Uncle.

In a fit of rage, I put the bow over a concrete surface and so both the bow and the khukuri got the full brunt of hard surface hitting back with all the force I put into it. Tip is completely gone, there are visible cracks on the blade, and the convex edge has been obliterated and deformed.

In what way did you destroy the blade?

Smoke and prayers.

That really sucks. Sorry to hear it. The blade might be salvageable, won't be so pretty anymore, though!

I'd be willing to have a go at fixing it for you, no charge of course.

Sounds like the blade is probably salvageable. Post some pics and let the guys take a look, Philll, Bookie, JW, and others, may have some suggestions on salvaging the blade.

Perhaps some anger management assistance would be beneficial too. I know exactly where you were when this happened. I've been there myself.

When fits of rage occur there is no place for sharp pointy things, large hammers, guns or chainsaws. I have personal experience with all of the above.

Thanks for the generous offer phill but I think it might be best to leave as is as a reminder

Smoke and prayers for your trials. May you find your center and overcome the negative energy in your life.

Smoke up.
I have made jewelry for over 30 years and when someone gives me back the broken pieces sometimes I can fix it, other times not. I like to believe that some magick items absorb the brunt of negative vibes and keep you safer in the long run.
I might be wrong, but the INTENT of making is an important energy. sometimes it feels protective.

My 2 centavos,
Mark

A fitting penance would be some hours alone under a quiet tree with file, damaged knife, and abrasives.

Post pics and perhaps some suggestions will surface. It's probably salvageable-keeping in the way it is is just gonna remind you of the badness, not remind you to do better.
It's fortunate you weren't hurt-i've seen some really, really close calls in that department.

Thanks Mark, you completely understand where I am coming from.
