Good alternative to Tuf-Glide?

I was wondering if there are any good alternatives to Tuf-Glide for lubricating knives? Maybe there are some other brands I am completely over-looking, but I don't like Rem-oil; it doesn't seem to really lubricate, and it gunks up my knives.

I love Tuf-Glide, but unfortunately I am allergic to it (I think). Ever since I started using it, I have been getting very small blisters on my index fingers and thumbs that itch like crazy. Kind of like poison oak, but I would be able to tell if it was poison oak since I react very violently to poison oak.

Thanks!

With that kind of reaction, you may want to try Froglube since it is an all natural, food-safe and non-toxic product. I've been using it mostly on firearms and fixed blades, but am trying it out on a couple of folders. It doesn't seem to be the most slippery of lubricants out there, but as far as overall cleaning, lubricating and corrosion protecting goes I like it so far.

Break-Free CLP has been my go to cleaner, lubricant and preservative for over 25 years. Been using it on my firearms and knives with excellent results.

Exceptional lubricant and excellent corrosion prevention.

I use ballistol. From my understanding, its a ph altered mineral oil. I also use it on my guns, and it works amazing. Hickok45 turned me onto it.

WeaponShield is a great alternative to Tuf-Glide in the lubrication department. In fact, it does much better in lubricating, and just about as well in rust prevention. If all you're interested in is lubrication, then nothing I've tested beats Nano-Oil. Not good for rust prevention, but holy cow that stuff is slick! Eezox will beat the pants off of anything for rust prevention -- including Tuf-Glide/Cloth, but stinks in the lubrication department. The best of both worlds (or a great compromise) might be to mix some 5-weight Nano-Oil in with Eezox.

I have the same problem with Tuff-Glide. I ended up throwing away all my TG stuff and using mostly mineral oil for a blade wipe and old fashioned sewing machine oil on the knife pivots. I've just started working with BMs Blue Lube and so far have had no bad reaction to it. It has also outperformed Tuff-Glide as a pivot lube. The cleaner that I got with it has done a respectable job on the blades for cleaning as well.

Break-Free is my choice for gun lube & cleaner. It was recommended by an ex-army range worker where I shoot. He said they used it in Iraq & Afghanistan and it performed pretty well for them. Rem-Oil is the only other lube mentioned above that I've tried and I was underwhelmed by it. Just didn't seem to do anything as well as other stuff I'd already tried.

Against rust, TG is far better than mineral oil. Blue Lube is a decent lubricant, but sucks for rust prevention. As a cleaner it is good, but don't leave it on there. I won't use them on anything less rust-resistant than s30v.

rust prevention test

Breakfree is just plain good.

... Breakfree is just plain good.

I agree. That's what I use on my .45 and my wife's .38. I've used it on occasion on some of my knives, just haven't been dedicated to it on blades for a long enough time to know how well it works long term.
