Any assisted blade for my brother under 100 bucks. I looked into kershaw but is there anything better steel wise?

Well I was going to say Kershaw Blur! I had two at one time. The only reason I QUIT carrying them was I don't carry my knives clipped on my pocket and they were just too heavy. A knife that definitely felt like it should cost more than it did...

Even before I read your full post, I was thinking Kershaw Blur in S30V. Excellent assist and the S30V takes and keeps an edge a long time.

Kershawguy has blem 0350s for $95 and new (0350KW) for $110. It's a fantastic tough EDC knife.

I agree with everything said above, blurs are great, and zt's are even better. Go with a blem from Dave (kershawguy).

The above suggestions are all good. If you are looking for something slim/compact, you might also look at the Kershaw Composite Blade Leek (CPM-D2), G10 Leek (S30V), or Random Leek (S30V). The Benchmade Barrage and Mini-Barrage (both 154CM) might also be worth a look.

Another option, depending on the size you want, is the Benchmade mini-Barrage with a 3" blade in 154CM. I have had 2 mini-Barrages and loved them. I only got rid of them to get the 586 mini-Barrage in M390.

The full-size Barrage with a 3.6" 154CM blade is a touch under $100 at knifeworks.com (use their discount code). It is also a very good knife. I have the 581 with M390 blade. The handle shape is the same for both, and it is very comfortable in the hand. Both the mini- and the full-size fire out fast and hard -- as fast as an automatic.
