Recommendation? Good battery powered radio?

I'm looking for a good portable radio to use during power outages. Storm channels would be nice but not required. Something "mid" sized is preferred.

What do you use? What do you like? What is recommended?

TIA,
Sid

I use a large portable that I bought 30+ years ago from one of those credit card inserts. In hindsight, I'm surprised it wasn't a piece of junk, but it has worked all these years and it has all the bands on it. Uses D sized batteries or AC power. It has been used through a number of longish weather related power outages to keep up with what was happening. If I were looking for one now, I would take a look at what Hammacher Schlemmer sells as they guarantee everything. Clearly you can get stuff cheaper from other sources. But they don't have their guarantee attached to them.

This is one I would personally consider: https://www.hammacher.com/product/hearing-enhancing-radio?promo=electronics-portable-electronics

That looks like a nice radio in a small enough package to be convenient enough to have around when you need it. Plus, it looks like a nice travel radio and alarm clock combination.

:thumbsup: Definitely under consideration!

The one I have is 2 AA powered and cost about $18;
