I posted this in W&SS, but got no replies, so I`m posting it here. As I usually do every couple of weeks, I made the rounds of the little antique and resale shops yesterday. I came across a really good book, "Outdoorsman`s Fix-It Book" by Monte Burch. It covers how to do repairs and maintain everything from your knives and hatchets to keeping your chainsaw and snowmobile running, with great "in the field" repair ideas. It also has a good chapter called "The Warbag" which covers survival and first aid kits. Anybody else read this book?

I havent, but it sounds like a great read!!

Is it a readily available book?

I`m not sure, it was published in 1971, I found it in an antique store for $5. Amazon has it starting at $2 plus $4 shipping. I highly recommend it, good reading.

Hmm....Off to Amazon!! Im gonna have to score me a copy.

My copy arrived today.
Looks like it will be a great read this winter when I can't get out.
Problem is that I can't get out in the summer either.:(
I sure hope work slows a little soon.
