There's always that, of course. But if the OP could only choose one, I'd go for the Rodent Solution.

When I hear "nice small knife" I immediately think of the CABS. If you are looking for something more beefy I highly recommend the BATAC. For something smaller I would always choose the SAR-3 (complements your SARGE really well!).

From the ones you've listed the Ratmandu would be my choice - I don't own one but many people here have great regard for it.

Let us know how you decide!

I love the RatManDu. But I wouldn't characterize it (or the BATAC for that matter) as a "nice small knife". ;) :D

When you piggy-back an NMFBM on a Claymore, it seems tiny too. ;)

Seriously, my issue with small knives is handle comfort. For me, the 311 is completely out of the question because the small Res-C handle is too short for my medium-sized hands. And I've heard enough complaints about the handle shape on the Rodent 9 to trust the handle on the Rodent 4. So the RS wins by default. Fortunately, it's a winner on its own merits. I can recommend it without having to compare it to anything else.

Well those 2 are the ones I am looking at now. Anyone have a Rodent 4 that can chime in on its handle? Its between the Rodent 4 and the Rodent solution. Busse stuff looks nice but alot harder to get. The kin stuff is in stock. I have very large hands so we need to take that into account. The hand completely fills my NMSFNO handle, and I wish it was about one inch bigger.

Err meant to say My hand, not the hand. I for some reason cannot use the edit function. I hit edit and I get nothing but a grey screen where the post should be and the only thing I can fill in is the reason for editing box. Anyone know why?

From what I can gather, folks either love or hate the R9 handle. I suspect it will be the same with the R4. So if we take the 311 out of the equation and you don't want to roll the dice on the R4, it looks like we're back to the RS.

PS: I don't have a clue why you're unable to edit your posts.

RS sounds like the winner so far. Since they are offered up in the store and its not somthing I need this second, I can maybe explore some Busse stuff. Then no matter what I can always pop onto the online store and scoop up a Rodent solution if nothing else tickles my fancy. One other quik question regarding the company stores for Busse, Scrap yard and Swamp rat....when they are about to drop a knife and or add somthing new, do they give you a warning? Like a post saying ok we are changing up our selection, you have 1 week before this item comes down and a new one goes up?

That can happen. But it often doesn't. When it comes to buying Bussekin knives, he who hesistates is lost . . . or pays more on the secondary market. ;)

These are all Busse factory knives . Price is for the knife only shipping and Paypal fees are extra .

Hmm, glad I scooped up my Sarge7 then, even though I was so late I was one of the guys that got someoen elses shopping cart leftover or someone that cancelled when they saw their bank account lol. If there were 500 made I prolly got close to the last one, Unless if they work it like say someone had number 50 then cancels or theit cart gets emptied and it then goes back into the pool, then I got it.....

None of these knives is available from the factory at this time. if you want one of them, you'll have to scour the secondary market and pay a premium over factory pricing . . . if you can even find one, that is.

Are you starting to get a feel for this yet?

Very good. Now all you have to do is figure out what those knives sold for originally and you'll be on to the game.

One thing I can say with confidence is that the RS will work for you. And compared to what you're likely to find on the secondary market, it's a bargain. Try it. You'll like it. And in the extremely unlikely event that you don't, hang onto it until Eric sells out of them and then sell yours for a profit. Then you can play the game too. ;) :D
