I am sad to announce the passing of a Blade Forums member. Blade Santa Cruz passed away on mothers day 2003 at his home in Santa Cruz. He is survived by his wife and children.

In life Blade Santa Cruz loved many things. One of them was knives. When all was said and done he had over 300 knives. Randalls, Crawfords, Reeve, Carson, Ryan, Spyderco, Benchmad, and more. Few people appreciated a fine blade as much as he did. I'm sure his knife collection in heaven is vast.

unfortunately while rich in knives he left little for his wife. Due to this we will keep a few of the best in his memory. The rest will be sold. Thank you all for your help identifying some of the unusual knives. I will post a notice when any of his knifes are posted on ebay.

Best,

Scott

I'll miss your father. My heartfelt condolences to you and the family.

I'll miss him too. I remember reading his posts and such, and he sure was knowledgable.

I suppose it was fateful that he posted under a thread with such title...

One of the members who have unfortunatly passed away, who I actually got to know on the forums.

He was always willing to give his opinion, and had one on many things. Intelligent, Funny, a Friend. He will be missed.

My condolances.

Scott,
I am saddened. My condolences to the family.
If there is anything I can do, please contact me.

Let us know when knives are put up for sale, or maybe even post some right in this forum.

Scott had previously posted a different thread, which I'll repeat here for everyone's review. If this is presumptuous of me, so be it.

"Hi everybody! I'm posting to get your help. Early this year my father passed away. He left very little for my mother but one thing he did leave is a large knife collection. Could you all help me find out what kind of knives I have and how much they are worth. I will post a series of pictures so any help udentifying them would be great. Once I have an idea what they are I will be auctioning most of them on ebay.

Thanks,

Scott"

Also, I have added SCOTTTHEWINEGUY to my favorite sellers list on ebay to check when he does auction more knives.

i'm sure a bunch of the forum members would be more then willing to pay a little more then what the knives are worth to help you guys out. Every knife guy that passes through here will always be a part of us.

Now's your chance to help out our buddy's widow, guys -- bid 'em up!

I am sorry for the loss of Blade Santa Cruz. Though not someone I knew all that well, BSC was definitely a name I recognized all the time.

Scott and family, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I just wanted to share an email I received today from a rather put-out bidder on ebay regarding one of Blade Santa Cruz' knives. I forgive the tone, as this individual (hopefully) had no idea what he/she was dealing with.

"It's people like you that ruin ebay. You bid on stuff not knowing that you are
paying top dollar and now me and whoever else can't get a good deal. With S&h
you are up to $118.50 on a used Knife. You can get a brand new one for $122.99
with free S&H and you would have been able to make the purchase already. Do your
research before you bid and quit ruining ebay!!!"

I sent a response cordially explaining the circumstances and my rationale. If that doesn't satisfy this bidder's outrage, I guess there isn't anything else that will. LOL... can't please everyone, huh?
