Hey guys title says it all! Just wanting some opinions for a good camping/hiking knife thanks!

That's kind of general. I would be happy to help, but I need more info.

What size do you want? (Chopper to micro necker?)

Budget?

Use?

Do you want a folder or fixed blade?

Don't really want a chopper, would like a fixed blade. I will use a hatchet for chopping so knife wont need to do that, but just a good outdoors knife. not huge but not a necker either. $100 and under

Although the question begs for more details, the Becker bk16 should give you what you want.

Becker would be good value.

Esee makes great blades in a variety of lengths (3"-9"), Models 3, 4, 5, & 6 should all be around your price range. They also offer a great warranty. It breaks, they replace it.

Mora knives are excellent value. For around $35 you can get a Mora Bushcraft Black which has a high carbon, blackened blade, rubberized handle. Really great multi use knife. I bought one as a back up but it could easily serve in the primary role.

I would recommend 3 blades, total is 14 bucks over your limit, but you'll be tooled up nicely:

Folder-Svord Peasant-13 bucks (easy to carry, good for food prep)
Multitool-Victorinox Trekker-31 bucks (little saw, misc tasks)
Fixed blade-Becker BK16-70 bucks

Boker Vox ROLD an Amazing value of a knife, just a hair over $100 right now at Blade HQ but it's worth it, excellent handle and D2 blade, one nice all round camping/hunting knife for sure!

Scrap Yard 411 is right at a hundred bucks, but you'd have to provide your own sheath.

+1 to Mora, Becker, and ESEE. I would suggest, in addition to the BK16, looking at the BK15. It doesn't have the traditional blade profile, but it has an extra 1.5" of blade length over the other tweeners (BK16, BK17), if that matters to you. It's an intriguing knife. I'll be giving it a workout today for the Thanksgiving fire, so I'll get a better sense of how it woodworks then. I imagine it will do great.

 I own several from all the above and purposely used them a bit too roughly. No failures.

I've been especially impressed by my Moras. I've given a few to my wife, she likes them for the kitchen. I consider that more abusive than batoning! And they're holding up just fine.

I think the BK-16 fits the bill. Stripped with micarta and a decent sheath makes it a superb all-purpose outdoor knife. I don't know much you couldn't do well with it.
