Good ceramic rod?

Hey guys! I'm in search of a nice ceramic rod for occasion edge touch ups. I've found I'm best at keeping a steady angle and pressure with rods.

I'd like to get a messermeister ceramic rod, but it's $25 and I see some Arkansas ceramics and other no names for much cheaper.

Any input on a good ceramic rod? Or maybe specific direction?
Thanks!

EDIT: Sorry, think I posted in the wrong sub forum.

depends on what you're sharpening

If you sharpening some high vanadium steel then I say forget about ceramic.

Otherwise, Gatco sells a solid ceramic rod for 10 bucks on Amazon. It sharpens the hell out of my 154cm.

Thanks for the reply!
I'd be sharpening mainly 1095 Cro Van and Boker C75 - those should be ok with ceramic, right? That's what I use now with a Lansky system.
Also, I couldn't find Gatco's ceramic rod on Amazon for some reason - do you have a link?

I own a BBQ Cleaning and Repair company and there's a grill manufacturer called DCS (Dynamic Cooking Systems) that uses a series of ceramic rod radiants in place of traditional ceramic briquettes. Search on amazon for "ceramic radiant part number 99123" and you can order a set of 3 for $15.00 or so. I have some on order right now for a customer--I'm gonna try it out on my knife and see if it works well as a sharpening tool. You can drill into a wooden block to create a stand for it kinda like the sharpmaker uses. Good luck!

Messermeister 12-Inch Ceramic Rod Knife Sharpener - on Amzn. Or pay a little extra for a better recognized name Idahone (it's pretty much the same rod) - on (Chef Knives To Go).

~1.2K grit.
