This is something I have not looked into previously, but was wondering if there is a good choice in a Wharncliff, or other very good slicer blade, in a larger length (3.25 to 3.5 inch blade) with a street price (used ok) between 50.00 - 75.00 dollars?

Any thoughts? Pics of a good choice?

Thanks to all.

The Blackhawk Bewharned falls into that category, it's designed by Michael Janich more for self defense but I don't see how that would preclude it from normal EDC tasks.

If your wanting something similar, and I surprised that Leek_freak didn't mention it, but the Kershaw Leek it pretty close to Wharncliff. Unfortuanlatly there are not a lot of true Wharncliff style blades available. There was the ones mentioned, then there's the Centofante 4, but they've been discontinued for a while. Spyderco has a new one released but folks are waiting in line to get one and it'll be over budget. Boker makes one that's not bad, but's it's pretty big IIRC. If you want to try out the Kershaw Needs Work I've got one setting in my safe not being used (it needs to be used), PM if your interested.

I just looked, there is a Centofante 4 on the eBay right now, but no telling how high the bidding will go.

I was pleasantly surprised with the Boker Plus S2 I just got from BladeHQ. The flipper action is fantastic, the lockup is solid and the blade profile is very useful. The handle ergos are very comfortable and it's made to slice with that belly length and FFG tapering to a nice edge and there are no studs to get in the way. I bought it specifically for the blade profile actually. It's a smidgeon rough in some areas but that is because it's a Boker Plus and a $50 knife but it functions very well, or at least the one if got does. I like it and lot and it's $50-ish bucks:

While not really a wharncliff, the FFG Spyderco Endura is an excellent slicer and fits the price range you're looking for. It's a little on the long side though, at 3 3/4". If you are just looking for good slicing ability, the leaf shaped blades of the Tenacious series are pretty excellent and inexpensive. Also, the Leek is a good choice but it's kind of small edge to spine.

Kershaw Speedform II.
3.25" Elmax blade, which is not Wharncliffe, but very straight all along until the tip where it curves up. Not too far from Wharncliffe shape.
You can't get an Elmax blade for less money.
Shows up on Amazon for ~$75
I don't think you could do better than that for that money.
