Good Compliment in between Shaman and Lil Native

Looking for an intermediate knife between my two favorites - a Lil Native and Shaman. Must be a back compression lock and I prefer wire clips, SV30 or "less" steel that is easier to sharpen. Anything other than FRN cheapie scales. Classic pointed Spyderco blade shape. MIUSA all the better.

Any suggestions?

If you can live without the compression lock, I recommend the Siren (has traditional back lock - but otherwise seems to meet your criteria).

I have carried mine for almost a year and it is a great knife, light weight, and the LC200N blade has held an edge despite a lot of kitchen abuse.

Sage 5, with the spine flattened like a para 3. feels more like a Native family, in hand and you get a pointy blade. (I've done a couple and prefer the Sage 5, over Para 3 G-10)

I'll see if I can find a pic

Seconded, have this and the Native and it's a stronger blade with the Sage for sure but it has the "cheapie" scales which I promise you are fine. Comes in a ton of steels.

Really well made, the Sage 5 is. Actually, tied for the smoothest compression lock I own, it is sort of a standard setter. My fiance EDCs an M4 Sage. Easy to touch up.

I'm a big fan of the Sage 5 lightweight and the "Bi-Directional Textured injection-molded FRN scales"

This picture shows even more why the Sage 5 is closer to what you ask for. First, it is the only one of this series to have a wire clip, these other three have spoon clips.

While the Native 5 has a swedge and the Native Chief a very acute point, the Sage 5 keeps a wider and thicker blade and tip than the Native, without giving up much because it still penetrates well. Flat ground instead of the slight sabre/flat grind of the Shaman, it is tougher than the more acute Natives. The front finger choil on handles matches with the Shaman too rather than the plunge.
