It's been a spectacular Friday on my knife Front.

I can give a brief review of newest arrivals:

Great Eastern Beaver Tail - Single blade in carbon, very nice finish,eye-wateringly sharp...excellent snap and half stop.Flawless scales in white-bone. Strongly recommended:thumbup:

Queen Teardrop Liner Lock in Amber Bone (already have the BEM version) REALLY THICK scales and better finished than the BEM, the lockup is excellent, blade very keen, and once again those scales are TACTILE:D fab knife!

Canal Street Trapper in Amber jigged bone. Finish and scales irreprochable, nice size and appearance, blades sharp for SS but half stop and snap rather weak frankly.A looker certainly but the snap is a bit of a disappointment. All the above come with very nice boxes too, Case could learn here:D

Then the unexpected: As I was getting this pack from the customs they told me they'd had a Barkie of mine since 18th APRIL!! I'd given it up for lost but the imbecile post-office hadn't bothered to tell ME they had diverted it to Customs! But, a very satisfying outcome. This could be the sharpest knife I've ever owned new, Nebula Green Linen- CHOPPER!

I hope your Fridays have been good, what's come into your possession in the past 7days?

Willgoy, those are a great addition to your collection. Sorry to hear that the CS trapper is a little disappointing. I have the CS amber bone whittler and it is a fine knife. Any chance of seeing pics of your new knives please?

OK I have to make hideous confessions: When most people post about knives they include a pic or two or if they don't they simply say they don't have a digi camera.

I HAVE a digi camera...

About two years now, a modest one but I suspect it will work....I can't STAND the instruction manual, left me catatonic after 4 pages...

So I've abandoned it, or neglected to use it and have NO IDEA how to transfer images from the camera to the laptop and thence to you....

The embarrasment factor is overwhelming, on the other hand, if you don't ask you you will never find - I suppose:D

The Canal Street is a VERY fine knife but the snap is a bit under par that's all. The dealer was very competent but I don't want to send it back, I wasn't terribly pleased by his enclosure of religious propaganda with my order. He wouldn't dare enclose political rantings so why should he do the same with tracts?

Will, aren't the instructions available through the manufacturer's website?
I'm sure there's a way to figure this out.

Or is it that you still have the instructions and can't bear looking at them again?

I was also mildly put off by receiving unsolicited tracts of that sort with a knife order. It wasn't a problem to toss the material but I don't really feel the need to receive such material with an order for a knife or tool any more than I would send something of the sort with any correspondence or package I sent.

Er, it's the 7000 page instruction manual translated from Japanese, written by an soft-ware geek genius that I can't stand:D

Gotcha. I think some of 'em are better left in the original Chinese, Japanese or even Sanskrit! LOL!

Actually, Will, I just had a brain storm. You might take one of those tracts you previously disposed of and use it to pray for enlightenment as to your image related dilemma! :p ;)

(Disclaimer: No offense to anyone's religious affiliation intended.)

It should be simple?

Install the software from the disk. Attach the camera to the PC with the USB cable.
Turn your camera on (you may need to do it with the camera in the mode where you can see your pictures, rather than the mode for taking pictures).
The PC should 'see' the camera & connect automatically, which in turn should start your camera software automatically.
Then (I hope) all you need to do is click on the button marked something like 'Get Photos' to upload the photos from your camera to your PC.

Or, if you can't be bothered, I reccomend that you get any handy 3 year old to do it all for you! :) :D
