Hey all,
Just picked up this used Sig Sauer P229 .40 S&W from a buddy of mine who recently retired from a local homicide unit. It's an older model from I believe the early to mid '90's but is in very good shape. A few scuffs on the bluing from being in service, but otherwise an excellent piece. It's already proven that it can save an officer's life:thumbup: (unfortunately for the bad guy), and I think it was a pretty fine deal at $475.00

Any opinions on whether or not I did okay on this transaction?

Thanks,
Jonny

I think it is a good deal too. I got one awhile back in a bit worse condition and probably paid a bit more. It is one of my favorite handguns though. ;)

Zen,
Have you ever tried the Hogue rubber grips on your Sig? I've used the Hogue slip on finger grooves on my Glocks for years and really like 'em, but was wondering how they'd feel on the new pistol. For $17.95 I guess I really should just be buying and not asking questions, though!:D

I had them on a Sig 220, would probably go back to the originals.

I also agree to the good deal. I have 2 Sig P220s and sent one to their custom shop for a good going over. Both are in excellent shape and Sig did a great job on the redo. IMO the Sig I have is the most accurate out of box pistol I own.

Good Luck.

What sort of shipping do you have to use to send it to the Sig pro shop?

An FFL can ship thru the post office. Civilians must use FedEx or UPS or similar and they require overnight service to prevent internal theft.

Thanks for the info. still might be a good deal with the insallation of the Nite Eyes sights included in the $129.95 tune up price.
