Merry Christmas Everyone...
[A large knife vendor] has the regular 110 with a leather sheath for $34.99...

Plus call it $8 shipping.
[that dealer] is not a supporting dealer, by the way.

I wasn't promoting [that dealer] per se, I was letting the members know about a good deal on the Buck 110...

By the way Wally's isn't a supporting dealer either...Also you need to be a Gold member before posting any source or price...

When I needed one I put it in my cart . When the price dropped I got it with free shipping. The price jumped back up within 24 hours. It came from Copper and Clad who is a supporting vender.

AND... I bet coming from C&C it was well packed in a box, not a flexible mailer. I had a few 112's recently shipped from that dealer and they came in a flexible mailer. The fella on the receiving end was not too happy!

The bottom one in this picture was $27. I bought it so I could send the other two back for new blades. Since then I’ve bought at least a dozen Buck knives from C&C without any complaints.

I like the old wording of the rule better than the current wording. Sometimes blunt is easier to understand than is nice. So I have included the old wording...

No Deal Spotting
BladeForums.com stays open due to paid subscriptions from various member groups, including Dealers who help sponsor this site. A dealer who does not have a paid subscription is not allowed to advertise in any way, shape, or form. In the past, dealers have used 'shill' accounts to promote themselves & their products; as a result we've limited all dealer advertising to The Exchange or registered Dealers with active paid subscriptions.

No Auction / Deal / Bargain Spotting
This is a variation of the "no spam" rules that we have. We know you found a great deal on a Ninja Death Tool 3000 - we don't care. If that dealer wants to advertise on BladeForums.com, encourage them to purchase a Dealer membership here instead of giving them free advertising.

I went to the link of BF Dealer's C&C isn't a supporting dealer either?

Sorry about the misconception, but I was told by a moderator a Gold Member can post places and prices?

Not to stir the pot, Buck Knives isn't listed as a supporting dealer either?? I know they're a manufacturer, but they do sell retail where most manuf. don't...

Many manufacturers sell knives, but they sell at full retail so as not to compete with their dealers. So, citing manufacturer site is OK.
Citing a BF dealer member is OK too.

However, the discussion forums here are supposed to be all about the knives themselves, not where to buy them. So mostly we expect to see things like, "Hey I just got this new knife and it's really cool! Got it at [insert BF dealer member name here]. Let me tell you why I like the knife."

A Gold member can ask questions of valuation, but is subject to the same deal spotting rules as anyone else.

OK... I guess I didn't understand that and it was never explained prior to this. Maybe the rules need some clarification to where a layman such as myself understands what they are actually saying. I wasn't trying to promote but to give some members a way to get a good deal on a Buck knife. I see that some members have a very tight knife budget and this was an affordable avenue to get a Buck knife. I'll use different wording as everyone does. I usually do but going off of what I have been told by a moderator, I mentioned the acronym of the dealer. Although they have extremely close ties to Buck. I apologize for being in the wrong...

Merry Christmas
Sorry you have to work
Don

It's not a big deal. Mods will just tell you the rules and you know it now. You're not going to be banned or anything.

Yea, I know. I was trying to explain my side. There is alot of "rule breaking" that's obvious and nothing is said. I was doing something that I was told was ok by a moderator, now publically corrected on it by another. I wish the rules were more clear. If you read the rules and take them to heart, there isn't anything you can say about finding a good deal somewhere and letting others know about a Buck knife. The company that sponsors this forum. If you look there maybe 3 supporting dealers that sell Buck knives. Not one of them is CC, WM, SMSCB, EBY all of which are mentioned on a daily basis.

I thought they were but they arent. SK is one. It's only fair to the dealers that pay to not suggest non paying dealers.
