I just bought a Gerber BMF and LMF from the same person.

No sawteeth on either one.

Both are unused and in new condition. No Boxes.

Sheath's are also in new condition.

I paid $300.00 for both.

Did I get a good deal or is this average?

Thanks!

I see them from time to time at gunshows. The prices on them seem to around what you paid (150 each...ballpark). And sometimes they are not in like new condition.

You probably did ok, boxes would have been better, but I would not worry to much about that. They have been out of production for a while. Not the best knives around, but decent and not all that easy to find.

Enjoy them, you did ok.

Yes, $300 for the pair is a very good price. I sold a BMF awhile back for $250 by itself.

Out of curiosity, what does "BMF" and "LMF" stand for? 'Cause I doubt it stands for what I think it does...

I have a Gerber 9" BMF without sawteeth that's still NIB. I had no idea that they are worth this much now! Anyone know what the Australian Bowie(the one with the rubber coffin handle) is worth now?

J. Davey is correct.

For a little while it was an inside joke at Gerber that BMF= Big Mother F-----, LMF=Little--:).

As for the BMF, I see them in dealer's catalogs all the time for $250-275. Pre- Fiskars Gerber's are very wanted.

The Aussie Bowie, K Williams asked about usually ends up in the $100-125 range. I don't know if Gerber mentioned it in their ads, but that knife was made in Italy by Fox. The Italy stamp is under the handle.

Thanks for the info. It's nice knowing that knives I bought just because I liked them have turned into investments! :D

A buddy of mine bought one of the coffin handle Bowies back in the day. He started throwing it - not the greatest idea. The brass guard was first to go - it literally shattered. He ended up removing the rubber handle after that. He wrapped the handle with leather & still had it last time I saw him. So it held up pretty well for a stainless steel bowie.

He gave me the cordura (?) sheath that went with it for my CS Trailmaster. I still have it & still use it for my TM...
