well it is not the 12$ bucks that ITE pays but
i picked this set up for 63$ each knife and free box!

i dont understand why so cheep
these knives normally should fetch 400+ as a set !
is there no one that collects these as a set?
am i all wet on that estimate?
did the market crash again and i missed it?
i dont know who the seller in fort worth is but i feel for him..
must need the bucks for a gun..

334dave, that's a great deal you got there... Nice set of knives... ... I wish all my bucks were only 12$... I had pay 13$ for some of them... I hate that....

I think that was a fair price you paid. I sold a set of 4 individually for about $80 a piece, and that was a year or 2 ago. Mine were in clamshell displays, and I think 2 of the serial numbers matched.

I nearly pulled the trigger on that set myself, but managed to control myself somehow. I have the Kachina version. I thought you might be interested in seeing this. Sorry that the scan is a little crooked. If you want to print it out, e-mail me and I'll rescan it and e-mail it to you.

So you paid ~$252 for the set???

I don't recognize that set, 334dave...What is the theme??? Edit: Never mind...The image above hadn't finished loading; now I see what the theme is! ;)

yes it was 270 including shiping
the sets are jest about the only way to get matching SN's
yes single knives sell about 80 or more if complete
the box alone would cost 25 or more at a show
debated a long time over weather to get the inlays or not
every full set like this has been a good bit over 300 that i have seen
i jest tossed a low ball bid as i was not really committed to them
and almost did not bid surprised i got them....
i guess it was the box that was the clincher
i dont have to build one to put them in now..

now i wish i had bid to own that one proto joe sold..
trax i really feel for you on that dial up you have to live with..
glad you consider it worth it to drop in when you can..

again i feel for the seller as i know he thought he would get more..

I was watching the Mecum auto auction where 15-20 late model 1982 to 2002 vetts comeros, ect with low low miles [15,29,40,50] went for LESS than there origional sticker price. They were new cars! add the cost of storage, inflation, lost income on there 'investment' what a bath that 'collector' took....that set did 'ok' considering...

...???...Sarcasm???

:eek:from me ?!?!?!?

i know from being on dial up it is not easy to stop in..

I was tied up for ~6 weeks with knife work, of all things...I think I posted a comment/pic of it; Colt/ArmaLite 601 style grips for M7 bayonets...I did a limited run and it worked out quite successfully...but used up a lot of time and energy...and since it was not "Buck", it wasn't "on-topic"... ;)

I'm also having trouble with PhotoBucket...I can't upload, since they seem to have changed to a Flash uploader and they haven't upgraded Flash for my O/S or browser...

No B/S, If I am going to publish more than one photo on thread I try to remember to use the expandable photos. Some just for Trax and some for anyone else in same situation. I enjoy the big photos since I am on fiber optic but like dial-up folks comments without them having to suffer (too much).
