SECTION 5 - Miscellaneous -
WHAT IS MY KNIFE / GADGET / SPATULA / TUNING FORK WORTH ?!?!?!?!
In order to curtail potential abuse of membership privileges associated with the forums, questions regarding valuation of knives and collections are limited to those with a membership level which permits selling on this site. Accordingly, registered and basic members may not start or post in threads with such requests whether with the intent to sell or for informational purposes only. This rule applies throughout the site.

I could be dead wrong but isnt he posting with intent to buy?

It's still technically for "informational purposes", so yes, this does violate the rules. If he intends to buy them and is gathering "information" as to whether it's a good deal or not, he's breaking the rules unless he's a gold member.

Well it says for "informational purposes only."
I guess when I read it it seems more like I have this knife and want to know what its worth, not Im looking at this knife and thinking of buying it, am I getting ripped off.
Either way the OP needs to use his google fu instead of being lazy IMHO.

Both of those cases would be breaking the rules. Actually the first one is probably more so......

But I agree with your last statement;)
