Hey guys, this question has been asked a few times but even reading those past threads I haven't really been able to decide what knife would be best for me. I am a huge fan of fixed blade knives and my usual EDC is an ESEE 3, but i would like a nice folding knife to have when I do not feel like carrying around a fixed blade. I like a folding knife with as little blade play will allow, with a nice slicing blade that will hold an edge. I wont be batoning with it or anything so it doesn't have to be super over built. MY price range is around $150-200 dollar range but i would be a lot more comfortable with something that costs a bit less! Thank you all for your help.

Depending on your lock, size and blade shape preferences some of my past favorites were:

Spyderco: Endura, Sage 2, Paramilitary 2, and Military
Banchmade: 707, 710, and 940

spyderco gayle bradley, but if you are accustomed with esee 3 you might want to try the Zancudo folder.

Any of the above suggestions would be great, especially the Gayle Bradley. I would also recommend a ZT 0561, if you don't consider it too large for EDC. ELMAX steel, titanium and G10 scales and it flips open as smooth as ice.

+1 for Gayle Bradley.

- tank construction
- utilitarian blade geometry
- hollow ground = slicing is my other name
- M4 steel holds and holds and holds an edge
