Good find at the antique market (i think)

I picked up a Plumb 3^2 yesterday. The handle had seen better days but I think the head was in pretty good shape.

Here it is after removing the old hande and a little surface rust with some 220 grit.

I didn't get home in time to go by the local old time general store and get an axe handle so I was limited to one from Lowe's. It ain't great but it will do for now:

If anybody can tell me what pattern this is and it's approximate age, i would appreciate it.

I had one of these heads, you have lost a sizable portion of the bit, but you certainly have enough left over to get by. Good job on the hafting!

You did great! That's looks like an oversized blade edge, something for debarking a limb or trunk once down. Unless that puppy weights a bunch, or unless you are a Paul Bunyan, I don't know if you could a deep bite with it with this big belly. Have you used it? How's it cut? Here are some patterns to see if one matches.

thanks, guys. I did some splitting yesterday and it did pretty well, seemed to hit pretty hard. I did some chopping this morning and you're right, it doesn't get a really big bite for as heavy as it is. I'll probably clean it up a little more, work on the edge and keep it for splitting firewood.

Its a Jersey technically, but many manufacturers and people alike called it a rockaway based off of the rounded lugs.
