Good Frame Lock?

I really like the look of these, but I am not willing to spend $100+ quite yet. Is there a good frame lock knife out there, nothing to flashy, just pretty simply. Oh and a flipper would be a nice addition ass well. I like the looks of the Gerber Torch because it it pretty simple, has a flipper, and inexpensive. It is also made by Rick Hinderer, a knife maker I dream of owning a knife from. Is this a good knife or are their better ones out there?

Something similar to this

Had a torch, it's a decent knife for around $15 if you can get it there. Anything over $25, it's not worth it. Good framelocks at very cheap can include the CRKT Drifter/Sanrenmu 710. A little bit higher end could be the SS Kershaw Framelocks like the Leek, Shallot, Storm I/II, etc.

The torch is made in China. :( Great design, but Gerber Chinese knives blow. IMO

Take a look at Kershaws Salvo, small Junkyard Dog, OD-1 or Storm. If you want assisted opening check out the Chive, Scallion, Leek, or Shallot.

The Salvo isn't a flipper but of the others are frame lock and flippers. All of these can be had for less than $50 and have way better steel than Gerber. Some are $25 or less. And they are made in the USA!

I think the Kershaws probably are the best of the lower end frame locks IMHO. The only Spyderco frame lock I'm aware of under $100 is the Cricket but there may be some others. The Sanrenmu 710 I have is used as a beater but is a great value at around $15 shipped. I personally would rather have it than the Gerber.

Kershaw makes an excellent frame lock, made in the USA, quality materials, and they offer a great warranty. By the way, the Torch is a Hinderer design, Gerber makes the actual knife.

I like the looks of the Shallot a lot, nice thin and sleek looking. 3.5" blade in 14c28, and if you look hard enough can be found for about $20 new on popular auction sites. Its next on my list, I just wish it came in gold TiN like some of the leeks did. I might pick one up and play with electroplating and other finishes.

Groove those scales are extra. But the knife is less than $50 with black G10.

Does grit and grime get stuck in the Groove's.... grooves? Where would I look if I wanted those scales as well? Its a nice contrast between the wood and steel, but is it possible to get only one? I like the plain look of the locking side.

I'm pretty demanding. Sorry guys

I kinda like that, what does it look like under the scale? I've never handled one in person, but I don't like the way the stock scale looks in pictures.

I like the look and shape of a shallot, i also like how the flipper blends with the frame, but sometimes i like a non-assisted knife. I may suck it up and get the shallot though
