I'm looking for an good inexpenisive knife to send to a buddy of mine in the Army who does suppy with the 2nd inf.

I have a few good ones in mine, like the Bear Claw, but I'm not too sure if would do.

The Russell WoodWalker is nice.

Small, however, fits nice into the back pocket of your BDU's. You can use it when you need a sharp edge and don't want to pull your "pig sticker" out.

I carry one all the time and love it.

Bear Claw is also nice. Have one, don't use it as much though.

Any Swiss Army is a good idea too.

Or maybe a small sharpener. Many guys have knives there but no way to mantain them.

If he doesn't have a good multitool, get him a Leatherman Pulse. Of all their tools, this one is compact, relatively lightweight, but full-service. Nothing missing except the saw and corkscrew. It's got everything else including scissors and locks on every blade.

For any soldier, anywhere, any assignment: Forget the "Dinosaur Killer" blades. Get him a SAK, or Leatherman/Gerber-type multitool.

The "DKs" only work when your surname begins with an "S", e.g. Schwarzenegger/Stallone/Snipes.
