Good guy uses auto on "The Unit" - Spoiler

One last spoiler warning.


I just tuned in for the last few minutes of The Unit to see Dennis Haysbert's character getting ready for a dinner party. He loads his gun but also messes with what appeared to be a knife. Then at the dinner party, the bad guys storm in with guns and the members of the Unit return fire. Dennis Haysbert's character advances on one bad guy shoots the him making him drop his gun, Haysbert's gun is dry and bad guy begins drawing a second gun. He closes in and uses an auto with white handles to kill the bad guy. It was very quick. I'll have to try to get some screenshots of it some time.

EDIT: Did he pull the knife or take it from a bad guy?
 
You see him putting it and his gun into his tuxedo before he leaves, as well as turning the auto in his hand at the beginning of the episode.

Was that not the coolest shoot out!!!!!!!!
 
I couldn't tell, though, was it an OTF or side-opener? I WAS surprised that a. it was an auto, and b. he got to use it on TV (I know, they do that stuff on 24, but it always surprises me)!

Anyhoo, wouldn't it be nice if the next time a terrorist broke into a black-tie affair you and your fellows could pull the serious hardwear???
 
I LOVE the unit! It is my second favorit soap, second only to LOST. :p Me and ma crew have a big get-together every Wednsday to watch that one.

But dont go blabbin it; youl ruin my street cred.
 
i watch it some myself, i was excited when i first heard of it, i dont think it really has lived up to its potential.

a lot of the stuff with the wives is corny & doesnt accuratly portray military life imho.

I still have it on VHS, and watched it again this morning. It was a side-opener, not sure of the maker, but it has what look like bone handles.

After he sticks the bad guy, he drops the knife on the floor and takes an AK-74 from a dead thug. You get a decent look at the knife when he drops it.
 
Thanks! When he was twirling it in the beginning, it looked just like a stag/bone handled Doctor's pattern knife with a nice pill-shaped shield (as a matter of fact when I first saw it I thought "Funny he carries a Doctor's knife"). I was honestly shocked when he hit the button and the knife was an auto. I wonder if its a DA?!?
 
I don't care how crazy the situation, I'm not going to just drop a knife and leave it! :eek: Then again, that's why I'm sitting in an office, and not killing bad guys.:o

Well, the dead guy isn't going to take the knife, and you can always pick it up later. I'd personally replace it with a knife from the table for the purposes of keeping my auto. If the cops come, they're bound to notice that the guy was stabbed. Best to have a knife handy for that, as after all he was stabbed, and all they need really is a knife to put in the evidence locker. Its not going to trial.

He uses a Microtech Halo II in the earlier episode with the stinger missiles.

Here's a question: The action looked fairly slow and smooth. I don't own any autos, but it seems to me that the action would be a bit faster if it had a spring assist. Maybe they slowed it down a bit to make it more dramatic? Do you think this was a spring assisted auto, or a gravity knife?
 
It DOES look like a Hubertus! Are they any good? I've never paid attention to them as they've never held that much interest to me. Cool shots!!!
