Having now had my first Spydie for a little over 2 months(Calypso Jnr Ltwt - brilliant knife), I am looking to purchase some further models.
However the prices in the UK are crazy compared to what you guys in the US pay.
Can any one recommend good dealers on the Internet (that you have used successfully, helpful, good service etc)that would ship to the UK.
Next choices will probably be Native, Military & Dragonfly.

PV Knife ( www.pvknife.com ) and Discount knives ( www.discountknives.com)
The guys at PV Knife have given me some of the best customer care I have ever experienced. They are willing to do virtually anything to make you happy. Brian at Discount knives is also very friendly but might be a little difficult to get a hold of as he is very busy. He is cheaper however. I have found that bigger sites like Knifecenter look nice but doesn´t seem to be as adaptive to your special needs when it comes to shipping etc. My personal favorite among the bigger sites is AG Russel ( www.agrussel.com ). Shipping to europe is approx £5 ($7) with USPS Global priority mail. Takes 3-7 days. You could get cought in the customs and have to pay tax as you shop from outside the EU but that has never happened to me.

Hi there Richard

Since having my first Spydie a little over two months ago, I really seem to have got the Spyderco Bug ( No pun intended

) and had my fifth model delivered yesterday.
I have found already that you may need to be a little careful when ordering over the internet. This has nothing at all to do with the companies in the States or their delivery system, which have all been fine. It has to do with UK Customs and OUR delivery system. On receiving an item from the States the other day, I was absolutely horrified when the postie turned up and asked for nearly £20, for VAT, Import Duty and Handling Fees before he would hand over the parcel. What made things worse was that when I examined the package it turned out that it had taken only 4 days for the parcel to travel all the way from the States to the UK and then a further 8 days to be delivered AFTER it had arrived in the UK !
To be honest I have really considered whether it is worth ordering from the States at all.
Although the prices seem a little high at first you may want to check out www.heinnie.com as when you take into account that there will be no hidden costs and delivery is free, they're not too bad. ( for the UK

) also, even though they are not listed on the site, they seem to be able to get pretty much any Spydie.

Just personal thoughts from a fellow UK Knut.

StevieK,
Thanks for that advice. I knew it just wouldn't be as simple as it seemed! I guess it might be safer to stick with UK suppliers afetr all. But the principal of paying the same in sterling as US knife nuts pay in dollars still really sticks in my throat!
