Today is the first day I have put my Izula through some hard use and normally not many things impress me, but the coating on the Izula took a heck of a beating and there is no signs of scrathes on it. Also the edge held up great, good job Rowen and RAT

ya, I'm not sure what sort of goo they're dipping the steel in down there at Rowen, but it wears like iron. I was out last weekend beating my brand new RC-5 through some hard white oak, (which BTW it split like a champ -although I must admit I prefer my 26 ton Brave woodsplitter for that chore) and other than the pure pressure of the splitting action sort of smoothing out and polishing the finish on the high spot of the saber grind, it's none the worse for the wear. Very impressive. Normal powercoat would have cracked off in one huge slab with what I put it through. I doubt even POR-15 frame coat would have held up as well as the RAT blade coat did and thats about the tuffest coating I've ever seen.

One more thing to say awesome about RAT knives.

PS, did I mention that after converting (for fun) a 6 inch round piece of white oak to toothpicks that the RC-5 still shaved hair off my arm?

Which is it just me or does it seem somewhat un natural for something the thickness of a truck leaf-spring to be that sharp ?

One more Well Done!

And I LOVE my Izula. Things as handy as a pocket on a shirt.
