I'm sure this has been asked a million times but I need help. I need some good knives for my kit under $30.00. All I have is a china m9 bayonet, some knockoff swiss army knives, and a coleman hatchet. All recommendation are welcome.:D

A Fiskars axe is $19.95, the Wetterling 13" Wildlife axe can be had on ebay for under $30.00, same with the Mora 2000 knife. Real SAKS (victorinox) can be had below that limit, as can a dozen versions of the Mora knife. In fact, you could buy 3 mora knives for your limit. Opinels sell for under $10.00 each.

With those prices in mind, you could get a good axe/hatchet, fixed blade knife (Mora) and a folding knife (SAK or opinel) for between $50.00 & $60.00.

Get a carbon steel Mora (Frost's Clipit) from ragweedforge.com, plus a Victorinox Soldier or the Opinel Garden Knife from eknifeworks.com. Then add the hatchet or tomahawk of your choice (a small 'hawk from Cold Steel perhaps) or use the one you now have. Then you're good to go, at least as far as your immediate cutlery needs are concerned.

Mora, opinel #8 and a 14" tramontina, if you shop around you can have all three for under 30 dollars. You can buy prettier tools but I don't know about better. Chris

Dr. Mudd has it right! I have quit a few knives and two of my favorites are my Frost Mora Clipper (carbon) from Cheaper than Dirt $9.99. And my Victorinox Pioneer/Rancher, very close to a Soldier.

Or, the Victorinox One Hand Trekker, I have the German Army version. Great knives.

I recomend the erikson 510 or 711 moras and an opinel, from ragweed forge

Buck has quite a few knives around for $30. Also of course mora's, okapi's, opinal's, Queen knives can be found for around that price aswell.
