What do you like? Buy some of those! Pocket knives, ninja swords, puukkos, grocery store steak knives, etc etc etc Whatever.

Only you can decide what you "must" own.

It's always good to have a bunch of stabby knives on hand. You know, for when you want to stab something...

:p

Sorry POCKET knives i forgot to put it in the post

Case, Queen, Schatt&Morgan, GEC, old Keen Kutters, Vic SAKs, etc etc etc. Peanuts, stockmen, lobsters, seahorses, sodbusters, etc etc etc.

Just buy what you like! Maybe just pick a pattern and buy a load of them.

Lots of great ones in your range.

Off the top of my head some of my favs.....

Spyderco - Paramilitary 2, Gayle Bradley, Sage 2

Benchmade - 940, 710

Also look at some Emersons.

Here are some really nice knives in your price range:

Ka-Bar Dozier
Case Backpocket
Benchmade 710
Benchmade Mini Griptilian
Benchmade Barrage/Mini Barrage
Benchmade Bone Collector (D2)
Kershaw Skyline or Zing
Spyderco Delica 4
Spyderco Endura 4
Spyderco Manix 2
Spyderco Sage 2
Spyderco Para-Military 2
Buck Vantage Pro (S30V)
Buck Vantage Force Pro (S30V)
Zero Tolerance 0350/0550/0650/0651
Hogue EX-01

If you're just starting to collect or accumulate, I suggest experimenting and experiencing the widest variety possible, and without spending too much money on any single knife.
- Modern "EDC" from Spyderco or Benchmade or other
- Swiss Army Knife
- Opinel
- Traditional pocketknife. Boker, Great Eastern, etc.

Or simply browse the dealers' websites and online forums, and pick up whatever catches your eye. It's your collection after all.

First look at the type of knife you like. Look at what needs you need it to fulfill then pick one that meets those needs from a reputable source. You don't have to spend a fortune on your first one, $200 should get you 2-3 quality knives at least. The Benchmade 710, Griptilian. Spyderco Delica, Endura, Manix. Kershaw Blur, JYD2, Shallot, Leek, etc. Those are all solid knives that would be a great first without breaking the bank. And once you have one that meets your needs you can just buy whichever ones you like. Lots of good deals can be found in the forums here as well as the major knife sites.
