I am looking for some good knots/lanyard patterns that can be made on the knife itself. Usually most knots are made with one piece and I am looking for some tuts or videos that are showing how to make a knot that is doubled on itself or with another piece on top? Thanks!

Careful when using a lanyard on an edged tool. They are designed to keep you from losing your knife if it's dropped. But they can also turn your knife into a razor sharp pendulum. I had a Busse Battle Mistress on a lanyard chopping on some fallen trees and the knife came out of my hand... the weight of the thing swung it back with great speed at my gut. Scary times for sure. I'd rather drop my knife than open my belly.
