I have another village model just like this -- 13 inches and one pound. Ugly but tough and will definitely do some work. Good scabbard, frog okay. Karda and chakma too little.

Take it away delivered to your door for $40.

Call or email if interested.

Tempted greatly, but I'd like to be able to eat over the next two months. My goal is to enter the beginning of the semester completely debt free.

I love those villagers! It is ugly, but it's so ugly it's cute. :)

Shucks!
A guy goes out of the office to work in the field for a few days and what happens? Bill get in like a gazillion villagers! And they're all gone! If I didn't like my job so much ....;)

Alrighty, yous guys better look out, 'cause my cell phone is warmed up for the next batch ...

FWIW, there are 59-61 khukuris here in the room with me right now (I've previously posted about the difficulty of getting an accurate count). My only regret about that fact is that there were 25 or 30 I didn't buy because I thought at the time they were too expensive or I couldn't afford them.:)

Pat I found a villager with your name on it. Send an email if you want me to ship it today.

Well, I was balancing my checkbook Sunday and found a check missing. My wife immediately said "Did you order a new knife?" I replied "That was the check before." Hmmm. There may be something to this HIKV thing after all!

I look at this little villager and am reminded of the 'Roman nose' profile on the English bull terrier (think of the mascot dog in "Patton")
So ugly that it's cute, true...and so reminiscent of that gutsy fighting animal!
That said, I reiterate my own preference for the sleeker shark-like profile of some sirupatis...such as my own beloved 20" Shop 1 "#204". and that beautiful 12" Kumar sirupati that Jim Mattis posted a year ago (pic should be in the Archives.) Very little 'Roman nose' on those, the spine is almost straight from the elbow to the tip.
By the way, Bill, as you may recall, the 'pre-100 year' frog on mine self-destructed while I was struggling with sticky sheath syndrome. Would you be able to supply a replacement frog if I gave you the 'waist' measurement of the sheath? Cost?

The knife arrived yesterday. (Monday, after being ordered on Friday:)) It is a homely little knife. Notice that I changed my descriptor from "ugly" to "homely". :D It just seems fairer. It does seem like a knife that can work, even if it isn't pretty. And where else would we call a knife that's 13" long overall with a 9" blade and a weight of a pound "little"? But it is little. And the fit and finish are, um, rough and ready -- yeah, that's the ticket. It isn't going to win any beauty contests, but it ought to do some good work in the yard. (Probably my sister-in-law's yard -- I think that's who it will be going to.)

Thanks for kind report from the field, Paul.

Ken, I have some spare 100 year HI superfrogs which you can resize -- you may need a punch to go smaller and perhaps a longer lace to go bigger. Email me your address so I don't have to dig thru my files (may not be able to find it anyway) and I'll send you one at no cost.
