Iv'e been told that Busse makes a solid tank of a knife so I opted for a Skinny Ash. Well I received the Skinny Ash toddy and this thing is ridiculous!!! I need to have suspenders made for my pants for when I have a sheath made so I won't be walking around with my rear hanging out.

Skinny Ashes aren't that heavy, they're skinny ;)

Just wait till you get a MOAB or an FFBM, something with some meat on the spine. :D

Congratulations on your first Busse, it won't be you last

Congrats with your new skinny ash. But if you ever want anything alittle longer and heavier get an HHFSH. At 8" blade and .270 thick its quite the beast.
Or you can go bigger and heavier yet with the FFBM with a 10" long blade.

BBQ Boy,

You got the lightweight ASH... no suspenders required! Here's a photo of the blade thickness of the Skinny ASH (right) vs. the ASH-1 (center). (That's the Boney Active Duty on the left.) It's just a wispy sliver of the thing....

You think a Skinny ASH is heavy? Just you wait, once you get your paws on a FFBM you'll really be screwed and know what a real Busse is.

For heaven's sake!! I'm glad I stuck with the Skinny for my purposes. Hahahaha.

Yep, it's all relative. You should have seen my friends face the time he was bragging on how tough his CS Kukri was. I proceeded to take it and "flex" the blade slightly, not really that hard with a long 3/16" blade like that. Only Busse I can "flex" is the the BAD, and just barely. Because of it's thinness, it's one of my favorite carry blades. Dave Brown on the other hand can flex an ASH:D

Greg ... Dave Brown can flex a Volkswagen, for Heaven's sake.:)

congratulations on you new blade, you will enjoy it very much, welcome aboard and the madness has just begun.

Great choice BBQ. The Skinny is my fav. I've said it before that compared to other makers, the Skinny really ain't so skinny. It is one heck of a knife that can do it all.

However, there are plenty of others for more specialized use. If you're going to do alot of chopping then you'll really appreciate one of the Mistresses, a Dogfather or my new favorite big carry the Basic 11. It will make life so much easier. For EDC, fishing, skinning or finer work there are many excellent choices that will do ya better than the Skinny. Too many to list.

But, if I can only take one blade to the field, the Skinny is my go to blade.

Volkswagens are just a warm-up for David. (And not those new-fangled plastic ones, bit the originals.) I'm sure a Catapilar bulldozer would be worried once David got warmed up. :)

Comgrats on your Skinny ASH-1 BBQ BOY! You've taken your first step on a slipper slope. ENJOY!

Welcome.

My first Infi was a FBMLE (.32 thick if I remember correctly). Beastly.

Of course, it seems even thicker when you have that same thickness in a 6 inch blade like my old Ash1cg.

I have wanted a Skinny ash1 since I held another's.
