I've been looking at buck and kershaw starting to look at bench made only knife I would except not made in usa if it was made by Spyderco or had a Supersteel ZDP-189 S30V VG10 etc... I wouldn't mind BD-1 Carpenter steel as I love my manix.

Any size limits?

Here are a few of my favourites for around $100 or less, all made in the US.

-Spyderco Native. Great EDC knife, S30V blade.

-Kershaw Blur. I love the S30V version (there are several different variations to choose from), it's a good knife and the AO is fun.

-Benchmade Griptilian (or Mini Griptilian). I'm quite fond of the 550 model, but they're all good.

-Kershaw Leek. There a lot of different versions my favourite are the G10/S30V and composite blade ones.

-Benchmade 530. Slim, lightweight, axis lock...

-Kershaw Junkyard Dog. A cutting machine! I've had mine for a while and the only thing I'd change about it is the huge clip. I've grown rather fond of the blade shape.

-ZT 0350. Kershaw guy has 0350 blems for less than $100. That would be a great knife to alternate with your Manix.

I got the new buck marksman 830 for less than $100. It's very lightweight and well built.

Why do you want to pair it with a similar knife?
I'd look for something different so you can handle different tasks better...
maybe a small fixed blade like an Esee Izula or a multitool, a SAK....

I've got a Buck Vantage Pro that I've carried for the past 3 or 4 years, and it's been a very good knife. Aesthetically, it's not going to win any beauty contests. On mine, the blade is not centered, and the linerlock has always gone almost all of the way over to engage. But it was pretty inexpensive (under $60), it's G10 scales and S30V, and has done everything I've asked of it.

In fact, I bought this knife as an inexpensive tester to see if I'd like carrying a larger folder with a supersteel. I liked it enough that the Buck has kept me from buying anything else during the past few years.

As long as it's California legal then no

It doesn't have to be similar just preferably around same price of my manix

If you're willing to go non-US for a Spyderco and under $100, I'd get a ZDP-189 Delica to go with it. You'll be amazed at how well the ZDP performs.

There are a lot of knives that could alternate with the M2 LW:
G10 Manix 2
Paramilitary 2
Delica or Endura
Benchmade 710, 940, 580, ...
ZT 0560, 0562, 0566
Kershaw Cryo 2, Thermite, Scrambler, ...

As for "pair with", or carry at the same time as...
If you wanted a larger knife to go with it, you could carry a Military or Manix 2 XL, even a Benchmade Adamas
If you wanted a smaller knife to go with it, you could go for a Delica, Benchmade mini-grip, ...
