Good Morning From Ashokan

We are here at beautiful Ashokan....where the food is good and the company is exquisite.
Sam is here with his girl friend....you read that right...... I said GIRL FRIEND. She is cute as a button and prefect for Sam.

Kevin C. and Tim Z. did a smelt last night and will start making it into a sword today. I will post photos as it progresses.

Deker, and many of the other forum chaps are here...so we are unofficially calling it the SHOP TALK - Ashokan hammer-in.

I made up an un-official poster for Tim Neu to use in his opening remarks about eye protection...see attachment.
The poster has this wording above the photo:

Yesterday was really nice. A day full of swords and sword people. It ended in the open forging until the early morning hours.
Don and I brought up BBQ and cigars and the folks had a good time consuming both all night long.
The smelt worked, but they had a bit of trouble reducing it. They finally conquered it by sat evening.

Ashokan is an amazing experience! Every one i met is top notch! Stacy, thank you for helping make my first Ashokan an amazing experience. There are alot of extremely cool people that attended Ashokan, and when i get the photos uploaded, i will add them to this thread.

Oh...and you DID read that right! Sam brought a girl....who forged...Awesome good fun. Sam is an incredible person and had a blast with him.
