I guess tomorrow is the day that Uncle Bill heads for Kansas. Hope he has a good trip.

Uncle Bill, If you get to read this before you get gone. Let us know what the prognosis is on your dad. If he is the fighter that it appears he is, you will probably be met at the door.

Late at night is the only time that I have seen this few people on the HI forum. I imagine things will pick up pretty soon. We will probably hear from Rusty pretty soon. Are you doing OK with the eye and the, so called neighbor by now Munk?
Let us know how you are doing.:) :)

Pappy, my neighbor still thrives. He spends his days down at the little cafe, wearing out the stool and irritating the waitress.

For me, it has been an effort remembering how to live. I cannot allow this low life scum to ruin my enjoyment of my family and Montana. We never see him. He is rarely at home.

Some in this little town, not many, are enabling the sob. Including the local minister and a family vital to the church- and our friends! I now call it the, "Little Rockies Baptist Church of Denial.'

This will make your blood curl- a lady in town has actually encouraged the buffoon to buy my small boys candy! Adults have nothing but contempt for this man, but he has always been 'friendly' to small children.

"If you could only see how gentle he is with children." she cooed.

I have seen him. He is subtly mean, with conflicting cues and a constant ego wearing down attack. But, and I mean but, I had to ask myself if I wanted my children to live in fear of this man, if I wanted them to think of him as a monster. One is too little to know, the almost 7 year old knows the man is sick and discounts whatever he might ever say. That's what I tell them; they don't have to be friends, the man is sick inside, but be polite.

If one could dream up a scenerio where the ability to 'let go' was sorely tested, this is it.

I can't control my neighbors who would make excuses for sick behavior. I can't control my neighbor.

my eye is pretty much the same. Not as it was, but a hell of a lot better and better than it could have been.

I'm pretty well packed. Got my meds doled out for a week. E tickets in order. Rental car reserved. Spoke with Brother Fred yesterday and Dad is scheduled to head home today unless they let him go last evening which is doubtful. Sisters who live near Dad in Springfield will probably take turns staying with him until he's able to go it alone. I'll ask him if he wants to come to Reno for six months but know he won't do it -- hates to travel anymore.

I'll be headquartered at Brother Fred's place in Girard, KS and will try to check email and make a few posts time permitting. Yangdu will try to hold the fort down here. She won't check the forum but will check email. No deals but she'll try to ship regular orders that come in. She's a worrier and is now concerned that I'll be blown away by a tornado. She has little faith because Lama Jigme came over yesterday and made me a special "travel amulet" to wear so nothing bad can happen. Who, me worry?

Thanks again for all the concern, well wishes and prayers for Dad.

Munk, I am really intrigued by what you posted today., I feel out of the loop; I am not up to speed with the situation. Is there a thread where I can catch up? Good luck.

UB, have a good trip.

Ben

Someone just asked me that. Go back to Josh Feldmans thread in March called "What I did this weekend instead of Khuk maintenance" That refers back to a severe beating I obtained in Feb. I do real good when I'm drunk. I meet people and see lots of lights. I'm still seeing some in my right eye.

Go Bill,Go. The tornados are not going to get you. Now, wouldn't it be something if one swept through Reno while you were gone?

Told Brother Fred if I could hitch a ride on a tornado from Tulsa to Girard I could save car rental fee.

Ain't much point is stoppin him now. I bet you'll be his fave son after that!:)

Well wishes on your journey, Bill. may your sails be fulla wind, and your travel smooth, road rise to meet you, etc!

Keith

P.S> Munk, hang in there buddy. The body is transient, the spirit is eternal. Keep on keepin' on. May your God bless you and keep you.

Make the most of it, Bill, we never know what's coming next. Don't neglect the young'uns, the middle aged, etc.

Our prayers and thoughts will go with you.

Munk, take care of yourself cause I need you around.

Yeah, and if you see any goldfish in a pond or fountain, throw them some crumbs.

Actually, when my FIL was alive he used to feed the ducks when he visited us in Idaho. Feeding ducks can be very peaceful.

.. ... .....

Hey Rusty, am I the only one upon watching the TV news about the bombing in Casablanca, thought: "Round up the usual suspects." ??

munk

suggests sweeping. It is peaceful, a bit areobic, productive, symbolic of cleansing, takes your mind off the troubles, keeps the hands busy, and the swoosh swoosh sound seems to calm the nerves.

Just sweep.

Keith

Bogie still lives in our memories, and Casablanca also gets played occasionally in my VCR. My wife prefers The African Queen to tell the truth. "Play it, Sam."

Safe travels to you, Uncle, and prayers for the family. I'm sure Bruise will do an excellent job manning the helm until you return.

As for Rusty and Munk... :) what more can I say? :) :)

I thought that, too.
But then again, I had the the great misfortune to be watching the local Fox News (sic) morons last night, and the anchor identified the bombing as having happened in Monaco.

He probably thought Sweden and Switzerland were the same country, too.:p

when you are 20 Casablanca seems wonderful, exotic, tough and tender. I still like Bogie, but see a sort of prolonged adolescence too. I mean....pining away for a girl...

I've watched Casablanca 100 times. It's the unwilling hero plot that works and one that can I identify with.
