I guess some of you have a bad head this morning. Sorry about that. Hope you weren't driving.
Went to bed at 2; up at 7:30 and trying to make this Edge Pro work for me. Coffee is good. No drinks last nite. Wife and I both have the flu, so not much of a party.
I hope y'all have a happy New Year, and try not to think about the recent election.
If you're healthy, be happy. If you can read this, be happy. Have a fine year. The end of year knife sales are gone now, so that hurts if you missed out...like me. Surely wanted that 3V from Survive.

Sonnydaze:)

New Year's resolution? NOT TO REPEAT THIS STACK THIS YEAR. Bills can eat away at your heart...

I used to wake up every morning of my life with a bad head. Figured out several years ago what was causing the problem and cut it out. Haven't woken up with a bad head since. Making sure I don't wake up with a bad head any day this year is my number one New Year's resolution. Life just seems to work better that way.

Happy New Year. I hope you and your wife feel better soon.

Bruce... :)

It's a good morning for a new year:p

Happy New Year!! Went to bed early got up early! Feel great! Looking forward to the new year. I need more knives.

Nice pix, guys and thanks for well-wishes. Please look at my PIC and learn from my mistakes if you can. Buying knives is much more fun when/if you can pay for what you just bought.

I don't know what that is a picture of...never seen those before. Explain for the Canadian members please :)

They're shipping tags...of what appears to be pretty expensive knives.;)

Afternoon all.My head's fine.I don't get hungover anymore.Moderation is the key.Now if only I could apply that to my knife habit.:o

^^^ I only drink enough to where I'm not going to be sick or feel sick the next day. No hangovers for me.
Moderation applied to the knife habit....
What does that even mean? Lol.
I don't go crazy buying as much as I used to. And Trades are far and few between anymore because I can't really find anything tradeable lol.
But if I applied moderation to my knives.. I wouldn't have what I have.

Good afternoon Sonny, I'm here as usual lol. Waiting for my friend to come over.

New Years Resolution...
Get a Spyderco Southard and my Grail Benchmade.

I'm sitting at home, still recovering from some bug or another.

Bladechick, what is your grail BM, just out of curiosity?

Sorry about that. These are all USPS D.C. receipts... Delivery Confirmation ...or "tracking" slips. Of course, many of these have insurance slips also. Yes, these are all pretty expensive. From about $100 to $725, average probably around $250-$300. Over the last year, I have been fortunate enough to "sample" many common-to-famous commercially-produced folders and fixed blades. Very few ever cut anything. Many were purchased New; many ANIB.
As I have no knife-shop available, I had to purchase in order to check it out. Since these represent "shipped" knives, you can tell that very few of these still remain with me. And, lacking sufficient funds, I often had to sell one in order to buy one. It was fun; it was a one-time fling that lasted most of a year, and many of these purchases had a "gifting" purpose in mind for male relatives. I think all males should have the opportunity to EDC a knife for utility purposes, as well as those females who also enjoy this hobby. Hi to my good friend BladeChick777...who is definitely WITH the program.

I hear yah...each one of these was followed with atleast one or two purchases....

2012 was a bad one. or good one depending on how you look at it.

The first thing I saw was Strider PT, and $500 insure, made me instantly think that's a lot of money in knives, lol. I started my new year off at work, had to be up at 5:00 a.m. this morning. This year was the first time since I was a little kid that I was asleep for the new year. I didn't really mind though, I never did anything that exciting in the past anyway.

Nevermore - My grail Benchmade is the Benchmade AFCK 806bk-1101.
Black M390 blade, blue/black G-10, axis lock.

I suspect that the $500 insurance might have been for a PT...AND...another knife. PT's are only $300 new when they are available, although there is some question whether they will be available again soon.

BladeChick, that Southard is a fine folder. Nice blade design, great steel. I'm carrying one now.
I'm not prepared to say whether it (or anything) beats a Sebbie, however.
Sonny

I'm not a huge fan of Black blades either. Hence why I picked up a Satin Para 2 and that's the one I'm keeping. But there's just something about that AFCK!!!
I'm sure I'll get a Southard sometime this year. The AFCK is going to be the harder one to get a hold of.
