Does anyone know of a good blank fixed blade knife with no handle scales? I was looking at the Spyderco Bushcrafter blank but they seem to be pretty much unattainable these days. I'm looking for a lightweight knife to take backpacking that I can wrap in paracord. A 4" drop point blade with a high carbon steel would be best, but I'm open to all recommendations.

Thanks!

Take a look at some of Kanetsune's knives; they sound perfect for your uses. Most of them use Aogami layered carbon steel blades and would look great with paracord. I think the ones that are under $100 don't come with a sheath, though, so you'd have to add that yourself.

BECKER BK14 "NECKER"

Sorry to yell... I was really excited. The BK11 or BK13 may also suit your needs.
Or any Becker knife really. Buy a BK2 and you will never look back.

If you don't believe me, head over to the Becker Knife area on the forums. Check it out.

The Fallkniven F1 blade is nice, but a bit heavy. Enzo makes a lot of fine blades in a variety of styles - in D2 and O1 steel. The trapper blade may be just what you are looking for.

This thread is not what I thought it was. The title is very misleading. I have to say the ESEE Izula or Izula II are excellent "naked" knives. What I meant by that last sentence is open to interpretation.

Are there no spyderco mule blanks out right now? Other ones I can think of is Izula and Izula 2, Enzo makes kit knives, Green river sells blanks, I think you can get the Fallkniven without scales, the esee 3 and 4 can be bought without scales at knifeworks. Can't think of any others off the top of my head but you have options out there.

On the lower end of the price scale, there is the US-made Buck #143 Paklite Skinner with a ~4" edge x .150" thick black coated 420HC blade with a decent nylon vertical sheath. This model number seems particular to WallyWorlds - at ~$18. The skeleton handle can be wound in paracord, too.

Thanks for all the responses. The Enzo Trapper suggested by arty is exactly what I am looking for. Ordering one now. Thanks!

4 inch skeleton bushcrafter? Get yourself an Enzo Trapper blank in O1-48 dollars. It's exactly what you're looking for. For a smaller companion, check out the Buck Paklite series. I have all three of them now and I love each one to bits.
