Good news for Camillus?

Anyone heard anything good on the Camillus front?

I emailed one company whose knives are made by Camillus, and I asked about future plans. Here was the response:

We have several other makers we are looking at, but it now seems as though Camillus is going to pull through. So hopefully it will not be necessary to change.

Not to spoil anyone’s pleasure but……isn’t this just wishful thinking and PR from Camillus!? Although I really hope they get beck to business and keep/restart producing there knifes.

I'd like to see Camillus and its skilled labor base make it as well.

As for the recent runs on Becker knives, I've pretty much bought all the Beckers and Camillus-made knives I want/need. The positives were that I didn't overpay on anything, and that this situation forced me to look long and hard to find a couple of "hard-to-find" models.

I was wondering earlier, if the recent run on knives would help them. If so, and if they pull thru, and the run to buy their knives stops, will they be back in the same boat?

We can only hope. Its a steep hill to climb but she’s a tough old company. Keep in mind Camillus has been around since 1902, they make a great product, and lets not forget the old “Made in the United States of America”.

I have many of the Becker knife line (BK&T). I want to get them all. I like the Desert tan. I hope they stay in business and make more types. Best knife line for the money.

What does the SG mean? Some kind of special version of the BK7!?

SG: The 'S' is for serrated, the 'G' is for government, sold to the military and packaged differently.
