Hi All, Got some good news in the mail today and wanted to share it with all of my friends here on the board! As you probably know, Kathryn and I have been in graduate school for what seems like forever now. I took several years off of school to build up the business, so I'm a bit behind her at the moment. Kathryn, on the other hand has persevered, despite some serious medical difficulties a few years ago and is planning to defend her dissertation this Summer in History. Now, here's the good news! She has always wanted to go to Law school, it was a toss up between a Ph.D. in History and Law school when we first started down this road. Well, now that she's finishing up her Ph.D. she's decided to go for the J.D. in Law too. The good news I wanted to share is that she got a letter in the mail today indicating that she was chosen for a full scholarship to attend Law school at a tier one school!!! YOOOHOOO! :) I'm so proud of her!

COOL Beans
you've heard me spout off about my wife and school, she's getting her masters in May..
the thing here is shes almost 50 now and she's going on to get her PHD

I know a bit about what you've been through, it's a tuff row to hoe at times.

gaurd that scholarship with your life  good on you both:)

The warmest of congratulations. I'm particularly happy to see folks pursuing their education in their 'later years' -- no reason to EVER give up on learning.

Best of luck with that J.D. Tell her that the number one criterion for success in any PhD-level program is bulldog persistence. Never give up, never surrender -- and you will get that degree!

WOW what great news, I was just thinking about you not but 5 min ago, while using some of your itc-100. Congrats to your wife and you

Wow, man... that's great to hear! Sounds like you're heading up north after all, eh?
Congrats to your better half!

Good On Ya espc. Mrs. Ellis....
PHD. then DJP..... Now if she would just learn how to make a mean handmade knife, K. would be totally well-rounded (smile or I erred).
Cool for you both!
Someone said you'd be moving North.....
I'm not asking, because the timing is not probably good for you to say, but one does not have to move north from Tenn. to go to an extremely fine Law School......Vandy, among a few others is totally excellent and what I percieved as "tier one" as to Legal educations, but what do I know, I am not a lawyer, jsut have some friends who are...... again, not asking.....Hope all is well for you both!

Congrats to you both.

I just finished my masters and I have no desire to take any more classes.

She sounds way to smart for me.

Thanks guys, both Kathryn and I appreciate it! We're both extremely excited of the prospect of her attending Law school...with tuition paid for! :)

Matt, nope not ivy league, but tier one (in the standard rankings), so we're not moving up to the cold north, staying in the south!

John, she's forged out a few but she has yet to finish any. They are on the bench waiting for her to get the time to work on them.

Dan, That's awesome news that your wife is going on for her ph.d.!

Thanks again to everyone for letting me share this great news. I'm so proud of my wife!

:)

Kerry!!! You wouldn't have a good case for brain injury. The case would suffer strongly because of lack of evidence. :D
