Hey y'all. I've been thinking lately...I'm looking for a new edc knife and am relatively settled on a mini griptilian..but...I really miss the old looks pocket knives used to have, you know with wood or bone handles and the like. So just wondering if any of you guys and gals have ever seen a pocket knife that locks, maybe has a pocket clip, but that looks more oldschool. Just curious :P I've seen a couple pics of liner lock jigged bone handle folders before, with clips. anyway :jerkit: I'll shut up and let you all talk now lol :D

found a pic, never posted one on this forum before so not sure if it will show up. But I'm talkin about something like this

That looks like an STR clip or something. You can have one added to any knife you'd like.

On the high end, check out the Pro Series Lahar.

I dressed up my Kershaw OD-1 in desert ironwood burl. I feel it's a good mix of modern technology and classic looks.

those look pretty nice too Nevermind35. I love the handle on your knife Phillip Dobson o.o really smooth grain.

A bit of a sidenote, but do any of you guys have any experience with the yellow cv trapperlock that is pictured in the OPs example photo? That thing has been appealing to me lately for exactly the same reasons as the OP explained- it locks, has a pocket clip, and has an old school appeal. I just hope that it locks up well and is built relatively well, at least for the price.

Any experiences with the Trapperlock?
Thanks JonM

The Trapperlock does not come with a clip, but also as mentioned above a clip can be added.

I have two Trapperlocks and the lockup is fine on both of them.

A G Russell and Al Mar Knives both have traditionally-styled knives in wood, micarta, and bone that lock, and some that open one-handed. You'd probably have to have a clip added, but STR could easily do that for you.
