We worked this 1311 like a sled dog this weekend everything from clearing brush, splitting quarters to food prep. It Just kept going and going like you'd expect from a blade from the yard ! Long live the yard !!

One of our pals isn't a knife guy to put it blunt. He's a very hard worker and hard on tools with old school mentality of just get the job done. Needless to say the amount of times he dinged the dirt and I saw sparks etc.. not one ding ripple or roll in the end. Ive had some sr101 blades that must have been made while Jerrys gang was extra scotched up. The edge strength and retention of these specific examples confuses me to this day. Specifically a mega rat wiler, mega warden , regulator and Tnt15 . All different usages from wood prep, do all survival, edc/workhorse different eras and geometries too. Those really made me appreciate the steel and never though of battle grade as a lesser.

Looks like she got some good hard use.
52100 has always been a great steel with a fine grain structure and the supercharged version of it busse uses, with the heat treat makes it even better.

There's a secret cryo sauce involved too isn't there

The cryo is what Busse does as part of the HT. It is their internal process. So the specifics are certainly a secret. I know they stopped doing the differential HT on SR101. I guess they figured it wasn't needed for toughness.
There is a lot of history in that steel including some claiming they invented it when they didn't, lol.
